Preschool Education: Preparation Begins At Home

Bill Gates aptly remarked, “The first five years have so much to do with how the next 80 turn out”. As a parent, I truly believe it. If you invest time and energy with your child during the initial years, you will worry less about them in the future. Several scientific researches have suggested that the brain of a child develops as much as 90% during their childhood and that by the age of 3 years, 82% of brain development has taken place. Preschools in NYC know this well, but many parents ignore this fact leading to some children being deprived of proper attention, development and care during these essential years. In this blog, I will share various educational aspects that I think you need to teach your child before he/she gets into preschool.

Basic Etiquettes of Living
Start with smaller things like teaching your kid to properly express their needs instead of crying, screaming or getting into a tantrum. Toilet habits should also be discussed so that the child knows how to deal with toilet breaks when in the preschool. Make it a point to have meals with our child so that they develop these type of daily activity skills before they start attending school. almost every NYC preschool deals with developing these habits but the sooner you start, the better it is for your child.

Socialisation
Children can sometimes be shy and hence it becomes the responsibility of parents to help them socialize at their level. This helps with increasing self-confidence of the child and he/she will be ready to mingle with classmates at the preschool.

Respect
Many NYC preschools integrate children with special needs into their academic programs, so teach your child to accept and respect every person and make friends with everyone. This learning will go a long way in making your child more sociable and respectful of others.

For The Two Year Old
The trend in the USA is that many children are admitted to preschools once turning two years old, after-which a greater role is played by the schools whose foremost task is to make the little ones feel at home. The aim of such preschools is to give the children a joyful foundation, taking full care of their safety, creative learning and overall development.
